IObit released Driver Booster 4, a new major update for their Driver Updater solution.
For those who don’t know, drivers are a piece of software that allow the Operating System interact with your hardware and input/output devices. Without drivers, OS don’t know what the device can do, how does it work, and how to understand instructions/data. So, in a simple way, the communication has the following pattern: Operating System <-> Driver <-> Device. Therefore, it’s very important to keep drivers updated. It helps to extend your computer components life and make it run stable.
Driver Booster 4, from IObit, is a powerful and easy to use driver manager/updater, that provides a one click solution to quickly and safely update outdated system drivers. With a large, and still growing, database for drivers and game components, Driver Booster is very accurate to install the best and latest version for your outdated drivers.
In addition, Driver Booster 4 has a toolkit with useful and powerful tools that help you fix common computer issues: system crash, BSOD, device connection errors, sound and network issues, and more.
This new update, v4, has several improvements:
- Support for latest Windows 10 Anniversary Update
- Larger database
- Improved download and installation engine to increase speed and installation success
- New User Interface
- Many more…
On this tutorial I want to show how to enable the Driver Booster 4 Professional (full) version.
This article was updated on 21st October, supporting Driver Booster 220.127.116.118.
Download and install Driver Booster 4
On this short section, we are getting things ready. Since we are going to use license numbers, you only need to download and install Driver Booster 4 Free edition
The setup is public and you can download through this link.
After all, you can run the setup to install the program. The installation is easy, however be careful because some times IObit attempts (or suggests) to install third party software (whenever they are from IObit or from other companies).
Now that you have IObit installed, let’s activate it. Check the next section.
Enable Professional version
This is the most important article section 😉
Just a small summary, to activate Driver Booster we need two main steps:
- Edit Windows host file, and make the activation IP redirect to your machine IP, preventing Driver Booster from validating the serials
- Insert a fake serial that Driver Booster accepts, if it can’t connect IObit servers (this is made on first step).
Now that you have an idea about what we are about to do, shall we move on? 🙂
Edit Windows ‘host’ file
I have a full dedicated article where you can learn everything you need to know about this special file. More important, how to edit it manually.
Therefore, check that article, follow all the instructions, and add the following code to your host file:
After editing host file, we can use some serials and trick Driver Booster to have Pro version 🙂
First, you can get the serials on the box below.
- Open Driver Booster
- Move the cursor to the right side. A panel should slide. Otherwhise, click on Register link located on right bottom.
- Click Enter license
- Paste the key and click OK
- That’s it!
Hope it worked for you. Leave a comment 🙂
